Petit Paris Restaurant

A taste of La Belle France at Petit Paris.

Plenty of restaurants lay claim to French-style cooking, using all the right ingredients and offering Gallic presentation but precious few – unless they’re in France - offer a truly authentic experience.

But there are exceptions.  Like Petit Paris in Edinburgh’s historic Grassmarket.

It’s been a favourite with the Edinburgh eating-out public for around ten years now, attracting comments from food critics like “From the Continental ambience you could have been in the French capital,” (Edinburgh Evening News).  Diners and critics alike love an authentic ambience, and Petit Paris won’t let you down.

The menu and wine list is exclusively French.  A plats du jour menu is available from 12 noon to 3pm and from 5.30 to 7pm, at a bargain price.  The piece de resistance, though, is the extensive and endlessly impressive a la carte menu.  Packed with genuine French dishes, using specially imported ingredients, it’s the main reason why, when Petit Paris is described as authentically French, it’s no lie.

Of course, no French restaurant is complete without a fine wine list, and Petit Paris doesn’t disappoint here either.  French wines are commonly regarded as the best, but too often they come with prices to match.  You can go expensive, sure, but the quality of even the most economical of vins de table at Petit Paris has to be tasted to be believed.

And that just about sums up Petit Paris.  You simply have to go there to find it just how good it is.  Book a table now…
