Jazz & Blues Festival Arts Market: 21 +22 July
The Greater Grassmarket emerging BID were pleased to support the Jazz Festival's retrun to the Grassmarket on the weekend 21st 22nd of July 2012 as part of Edinurghs Jazz & Blues festival.
The Mardi Gras brings the Festival to the heart of Edinburgh’s old town which becomes a mini New Orleans for the afternoon. A host of bands, stages, brollie dollies and a mix of visiting and local musicians create the party atmosphere. The Stooges from New Orleans launch the weekend, joined by Savannah Jazz Band; Al's Dixie Palz; singers, Iain Hunter and Freddie King; blues Harmonica wizard and vocalist, Dana Dixon with her band; new to the Festival, lazy acoustic blues from Sleepy Eyes Nelson; and, of course, Mardi Gras stalwarts The Criterion Parade Band.

Images from last year's Jazz & Blues Festival Arts Market:

An eclectic array of makers displayed their wares amongst the excitement of the Mardi Gras parade as part of the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival last year. Vinyl records, secondhand clothing, together with our first ever Vintage hair parlour, and an array of designer makers from knitwear, jewellery, to textiles, plus lots of yummy food.
An intoxicating spectacle of marching bands, hot horns and sassy singers accompanied the market. Vivid splashes of colour as musical excitement blended with stalls for those wonderful finds.
The market continued into the Sunday with live jazz and Capoeira dance (a Brazilian acrobatic art from) from Grupo Senzala Scotland.
We're delighted to announce another Jazz Festival Arts Market this year. Dates announced are for Sat 21 and Sun 22 July
11am to 6pm each dayCost: £105 plus vat for the weekend
If youre an artist, maker or local food producer please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you. Stall bookings now being accepted online at www.grassmarkets.co.uk
