Hula is an independent cafe and juice bar nestled in West Bow, right opposite the historic Bow Well where Victoria Street meets The Grassmarket. Hula hosts monthly gallery exhibitions, showcasing local artists - there's always something new to see when you visit.
Nicknamed locally as 'Sunshine in a Cup' as a result of a review in The List Eating and Drinking Guide, Hula really is a little ray of light! The service is warm and friendly and the atmosphere is quirky and vibrant. Guests can sit in or take away, enjoy free WIFI or even book the venue for an event. Baby change facilities are available.
Hula serves a range of delicious breakfast and lunch items including toasted wraps and bagels, all laden with good wholesome produce like Scottish smoked salmon with cream cheese, houmous, or Cajun spiced chicken and cheddar; homemade soups; fresh fruit salad with granola and yogurt; delicious cakes and muffins; salads, pastries and papa-bear portions of Scottish porridge oats.
Great value lunch deals are available every day, and a special discounted 'smoothie of the day' is always on offer, using seasonal ingredients. There are gluten free options, including cakes and sandwiches. The smoothies and juices are naturally dairy and gluten free.
Drink options include expertly prepared coffee (Hula works closely with Artisan Roast, a local independent coffee roastery, to train all its baristas), rich hot chocolates, a range of teas, and of course the Hula juices and smoothies. Hula is Edinburgh's premier juice bar, and has been creating healthy fruity concoctions in this corner of the Grassmarket since 2007. Working with the finest produce, and to the most inventive recipes, Hula can create a juice to revive, refresh, sooth or energise you. They can even offer organic boosters to mix into the drink to relieve a hangover or provide a burst of natural energy - the range of organic boosters includes Immune Boost, Detox Boost, Energy Boost and Wheatgrass amongst others.
