The Grassmarket - Edinburgh's Arts Hub
When Avalanche Records moved into the Grassmarket in late 2010 it was the last piece in a jigsaw that already saw the Grassmarket as the arts hub of Edinburgh. Avalanche relocated to a larger shop next to Red Dog, a musical instrument shop, so all your music needs can be satisfied between these two internationally renowned shops. There are several venues all within minutes of each other and a selection of vintage clothing making it almost impossible not to find something you just have to buy.
Whether looking for second hand books, science fiction or more leftfield books you will not be disappointed with Edinburgh’s Grassmarket. After catching up on your reading you can pop into some of the area’s antique shops, or pick up some original pieces of art from one of the gorgeous galleries and dealers along Victoria Street.
When it comes to the arts Edinburgh's Grassmarket rivals any city in the world for both quality and selection.
